Amanda Sedgwick

Amanda Sedgwick has been active as a bandleader, composer, and freelance musician and soloist in Sweden and the United States for the past twenty-five years.

She has released five albums under her own name, with her compositions at the center.

Today, Amanda lives in Stockholm but spends time regularly in New York, where she performs at the jazz club Smalls, most recently this February at the album release of Dwayne Clemons’ Shadow And Act (Smalls Live).

Ulla Fluur

Ulla Fluur – Swedish jazz with an organ trio

Singer Ulla Fluur made her debut in 2021 and has since released three critically acclaimed albums. With the language of jazz as her foundation, she interprets songs from a wide range of genres – from pop and 1960s schlager to classic jazz standards. This evening, she will present a program entirely in Swedish – warm and full of swing.

Le Grand Jazz

The French jazz pianist and composer Michel Legrand established himself early on as one of the greats in jazz. His beloved compositions, with their strong melodies, intricate chord progressions, and lyrical sound, were shaped by the cool, romantic era in Paris during the 1950s and 60s. Cole Porter, who lived and worked in France for many years, was in many ways a major inspiration for Legrand.

This evening, Legrand’s incredible music (along with a few selected Cole Porter compositions) will be interpreted by the quartet.

Cilla Ribbing

Cilla Ribbing is a versatile and well-established singer with a rich background in soul, jazz, and bossa nova. She is known for her distinctive soulful voice as well as her strong stage presence, energy, and humor. She always strives to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, inviting the audience in and making them feel involved. Improvisation is a central part of the band’s musical identity, and by following the inspiration of the moment, magic is created on stage.

From the sun-kissed beaches of Rio de Janeiro to Stockholm’s Kung Carl Jazz Club – an evening where bossa nova, jazz, and blues meet to tell the story of this journey.
Luciana Sousa “Lulu’” – vocals
Born in Brazil and based in Sweden, Luciana sings with a voice that blends the longing of bossa nova, the freedom of jazz, and the power of the blues. She sings with heart, history, and presence – inspired by voices such as Carmen McRae, Ella Fitzgerald, Elis Regina, Tom Jobim, Astrud Gilberto, and Nina Simone.

Cantaloope

The band Cantaloope performs songs from the American Songbook, often with Swedish lyrics. They also play Swedish folk tunes arranged in a jazz style, as well as more modern songs with their own arrangements. With 25 active years behind them, they are a familiar presence in restaurant and hotel settings around Stockholm. Expect swinging jazz and refreshing arrangements.

Freeport Soul Collective

Freeport Soul Collective is a band from Stockholm rooted in the soul and funk of the 60s and 70s. The band was formed in 2015, and their name comes from their first rehearsal space in Frihamnen (“Freeport”) in Stockholm. They perform groovy songs by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Amy Winehouse, and Chaka Khan. On November 22, the band makes their comeback at Kung Carl’s Jazz Club!

3's company

The vocal group 3's Company, consisting of Faye Austin-Nordin, Kimberley Akester, and Erika Dittmer, has over 30 years of experience on the international theater, film, and musical scene, with productions such as Chess, Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, and ABBA in Hyde Park.

In 2018, 3's Company made their debut with the concert “Songs from the Shows” at the English Church in Stockholm, earning praise for their harmonies and arrangements. In 2019, the group premiered the musical theater production “English Rose; Songs & Stories from the 40's”, which has been performed at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern and Göteborgs Stadsteater in recent years.

On October 4, the vocal group will present gems from their jazz repertoire, including “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree”, “Moon River”, “Gröna små äpplen”, and songs by Cole Porter.

Nanna Carling

With her sparkling charisma and crystal-clear musicality, soprano saxophonist and singer Nanna Carling has quickly become a crowd favorite on jazz stages across Sweden and Europe. Inspired by legends such as Sidney Bechet, Billie Holiday, and Johnny Hodges, she offers timeless jazz filled with high energy, charm, and contagious joy of playing.

In just the past few years, Nanna Carling has performed over 200 live shows in Sweden, Denmark, France, and the Netherlands. She has appeared at major festivals and intimate clubs, as well as at summer evenings, Pride celebrations, castles, and cultural centers – always with the same strong connection to the audience and a stage presence that fills the entire room.

The band offers a wide repertoire of rock, pop, soul, and blues – including songs by Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Joe Cocker, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Kinks, Wilson Pickett, and Otis Redding.
